A Peas of You Interview I

MadPea has been known to drive people mad and insane, and although you don't get to see much of our caring nature, we do care!  We appreciate each one of you Peas reading this.  Our Kiana met a couple recently, and was inspired with their story.  Today they are a real life couple and guess where they spent their first date!?

Here is their story and how one of MadPea's hunts played a major part in bringing them together!

Did you spend your first date together by doing a MadPea hunt?

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): Yes it was.

Ryker Darkward: Yes ma'am.

How did you both meet in Second Life?

Ryker Darkward: It was actually a coincidence.  I had just taken a job at a new club and echo had taken the shift I was starting on as a cover for a friend of hers.  So actually, she normally wouldn't have been there, and to be honest until we did the MadPea hunt together.

How did you end up speaking to each other?

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): He was being cocky in local and I am a DJ.  He was basically host for the set. I didn't care for him being cocky so I got in his box.  Honestly, I did not care much for him at all at that moment.  He kept talking and came to another set I was in.

So who, popped the question, to go to a MadPea hunt?

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): That was all me.  I am a MadPea fanatic and love the hunts. So I figured fine, you want to follow me around, its going to be something I like doing.
So I asked him to go with me and he was like...OK. I figured he did not know what he was getting into and it would be funny.

I am guessing he liked, not only you, but the MadPea hunt?

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): Well he had never done a hunt before at all in Second Life.
He really did love the hunt.  It kept us talking.  We had to talk to get through the hunt and it forced us to work together so to speak, to complete the hunt.

Was it an investigative, type hunt?

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): Took us several hours in fact!  Yes, it was a lot of detail in it, where you had to search and find clues and every character had a story to them.

So, is there anything in particular, you'd like to say to Kiana, the MadPea Crew, as well as the Second Life community.

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): To Kiana and the MadPea Crew, thank you.

Ryker Darkward: Yes, thank you. More than I could ever repay Kiana.

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): To the sl community, if you have the chance do the hunts they are amazing. Take your friends and family. You may find something you were not expecting along the way.  Madpea and Kiana, as I am not a very talkative person I am very introverted and honestly if the hunt was easy or boring, I do not think we would have clicked and spent the time together to get to know each other and be where we are today. It really does challenge you. If you have someone with you, its a great bonding experience as well. Makes for some amazing pictures.  I remember a specific one, it was a table all covered in a cloth with spiderwebs and the poses, had your face down on the table.

Ryker Darkward: It is the one that was her favorite.

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): I know it does not show my face but that is the one I did and it was my favorite =.=

Where was this photo taken?

Ryker Darkward: The Peatonville Asylum.

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): It was at the asylum, the first one we did together.
That is actually the first date photo.  We have done every hunt from that point on that they have done.  They are sentimental for us and we love them!  It is a really great community to be involved in.  Everyone is always so helpful during the hunts.

Ryker Darkward: Doing that hunt helped us grow closer than we ever possibly could have on our own.

Snapshot taken Love Potion No.9.9 Hunt

Mayhem Darkward (echo.sparrowhawk): The Inca Warrior was worse!
Yeah...I do not mind saying, "I pulled out some hair and cussed a couple of times on that one, but in the end the prizes are amazing and you are waiting for the next one."

Thank you for sharing your story, Ryker & echo, from all of us at MadPea!

We want to hear and share, "A Peas of you!"

Dark Dimension Hunter Top 5 Interviews II

Hello Peas!
Today, we are sharing with you one of our top 5 hunters to finish the Dark Dimension hunt.  He made it through the darkness and torment found throughout the DRD sim in one piece.  His name is, ChaosFear, and came in fourth place according to MadPea data.  We asked him about his encounter with the latest hunt, Dark Dimension.
He will go down in MadPea History as the 4th person to complete this hunt on 10/7/13, 5:47 am in 15h and 14 minutes.
4.ChaosFear10/7/'13, 5:47 am15h 14'

What did you like or think about the Dark Dimension hunt?

Chaos (chaosfear): I really liked the fact it made me pull my hair out and the hunt was awesome at the same time, I like a challenge and it sure was that.

What helped you complete this hunt very quickly, given that people are saying, its a challenging one?

Chaos (chaosfear): I was doing the hunt with a friend, which really helps a lot, and making new friends along with way giving each other small tips, without spoiling it and pointing it out where the object is, But most of all teamwork especially at the end.

Do you have any tips for hunters, that may be thinking of doing this hunt, for the first time?

Chaos (chaosfear): The only things I can think of are, be determined, don't rush, make friends don't be afraid to ask for help, but most of all enjoy it, it's lots of fun!

Being that the original story was written by someone else, would you like to say something to them, as well as MadPea for creating this hunt?

Chaos (chaosfear): I loved the story and keep doing what you love :)

What is your favorite hunt so far?

Chaos (chaosfear): I've only ever done 2 madpea hunts, this one and the Lennon Park Massacre. Thank you for the hunts and I can't wait to do more!!

What was your favorite part of this hunt?

Chaos (chaosfear): Without giving anything away I have to say the best part was at the end, when teamwork really mattered!!

Woot! Chaosfear!

Dark Dimension Hunter Top 5 Interviews I

Hello Peas!
It is that time again, when we reach out to our hunters and share some MadPea data.  You were fast and fearless, despite all of the darkness and difficulties along the way.  Here is one of our Top 5, fantasiaprincess.  She came in fifth place and was one of the very first hunters that endured the pain and proved that the hunt, was doable.  We were able to ask her, about her confrontation with our latest hunt, Dark Dimension.
We were curious to ask her, how she was able to complete this hunt, and make it through.  She will go down in MadPea History as the 5th person to complete this hunt on 10/7/13, 6:45 am in 15h and 46 minutes.
*5. fantasiaprincess 10/7/'13, 6:45 am 15h 46'

What did you like about the Dark Dimension hunt?

ღ Fanta ღ (fantasiaprincess)I would have to say making friends along the way but also the feeling of thinking I had gotten to end a few times only to find out there was another twist in the hunt that I had to finish.

What helped you complete this hunt very quickly, given that people are saying, its a challenging one?

ღ Fanta ღ (fantasiaprincess)I had spoken to a few other people along the way, we helped each other when we were stuck on something. I also made sure to put all my clues into note cards so as that I could refer back to them for future use.

Do you have any tips for hunters, that may be thinking of doing this hunt, for the first time?

ღ Fanta ღ (fantasiaprincess)Don't be afraid to ask for help and make conversation with other hunters. Watch what other people are doing closely also. They may not always be right, but they can in most cases lead to finding the answers you need. Also be positive, don't think that because it hard it can not be done. Anyone can do anything they put their mind too.

Being that the original story was written by someone else, would you like to say something to them, as well as MadPea for creating this hunt?

ღ Fanta ღ (fantasiaprincess)I would like to say thank you so much for having such amazing creativity. For being able to keep me on my toes. This hunt was (along with all the other madpea hunts) are designed to make you think. It is not just a simple hunt challenge. It was put together fabulously and I am glad I did it so... Thank you. :-D

What was your favorite part?

ღ Fanta ღ (fantasiaprincess) I can not pinpoint an exact favorite part. Everything from the start to the finish was just mind blowing, but hands down finding new stores to shop at was a mega bonus. I am in love with my new growing wardrobe. lol

Woot! Fanta!

Unia Collaborator Interview: Bryn Oh and Caer Balogh

An awesome concept such as UNIA, can only be realized by awesome teams. Teams such as MadPea and its family of collaborators, who have also become a great part of its creation and concept. UNIA is like a painting that is brought to life, through a vision, creativity, and art.
Bryn Oh and Caer Balogh, two amazing people who have taken part in the making of UNIA share that world with us today.
Bryn Oh was able to give us insight about UNIA, herself and dear friend Caer Balogh.

Who are you and what do you do on second life?

"My name is Bryn Oh and I create virtual art in the form of Immersive environments."

You can read more about Bryn Oh, using the link below to her blog:

Can you give me a little insight of who Caer is, and her art?
"I think Caer is some kind of super program pretending to be a human behind an avatar. Either that or she is an alien who survived the Roswell crash and is in a bubble in area 51. I think that explains it and they have allowed her use of Second Life to alleviate her bubble boredom. Or she is just a really cool person. Her art is scripting which is essentially the magic in SL."

What is it, that you and Caer do, in the development of the UNIA game?

"Well this was the first time I have ever closely worked with anyone and it was a real pleasure. I am not a very good scripter. I admit it! I suck. My brain doesn't work that way. Caer is a master scripter so the difference for me was how I approached what I wanted the build to do. So for example Caer would say.. "Ok so what do you want the build or this scene to do?" What that means to me generally is "What would you like it to do knowing the limitations of SL?.. so be reasonable". But she didn't want me to temper my goals because I don't expect much from SL scripting. So I would tell her what I wanted in a perfect world and she would make it happen if possible."
What do you enjoy about second life?

"The ability to create. A world of user generated content is very alluring to me, from novice to pro."

How would you describe your art style?

"I create immersive narratives that are often melancholy in nature and done in poems. Most of the things I create are a type of introspective diary."
What kind of art/or theme is your favorite and you most identify with?

"I am fond of Brunaille or Grisaille painting styles, which limit the colour palette to create harmony. Artists like Georges de LaTour were masters in this area. I enjoy crosshatch pen and ink drawings from old masters like George Cruikshank or John Tenniel to that which include washes like Alberto Giacometti. In SL I tend to gravitate towards artists like AM Radio, Nessuno Myoo and Rose Borchovski. I am also quite fond of Mikati Slade and her six bit candy art. Glyph Graves always impresses me with his conceptual work as well as Blotto Epsilon and Cutea Benelli. Selavy Oh too. There are lots actually I could go on for a while. My themes often revolve around a dystopian world where outcasts hide but always hope to find someone to share in their solitude. They are all reflections on technology and the dehumanization of society."
