MadPea Event Manager RavenStarr and the Carneval Parade

Hasn't the Frost Hunt been  built wonderful? Besides the hunt itself it is so nice to walk around and enjoy the Winter scenery. Behind the MadPea builds is always teamwork. Today we want to introduce to an important team member at the Enchanted Frost Hunt:

RavenStarr
Raven is not for long in SL. She joined in 2011 because of school.  She is in the genetics field and the students presented their research posters inworld at a virtual symposium.  After her research, she started exploring SL and stayed.

One of her big passions in life is art as she  I am a painter in real life.  She uses acrylics and mixed media on her canvases.Raven:  "I love exploring the creations of the artistic visionaries here in Second Life.  It is like walking through a waking dream.  I hope to some day stand among them with my own artwork."

The previous Madpea hunt: Praying Mary
She does not see herself as a "builder" yet. " I am more of a designer.  I use what I have or find to create an artistic vision.  I have created several private SIMS.  I also collaborated in the creation of the beginning and ending of the Praying Mary Hunt for MadPea."

She designed several places as this private sim for example:

The Enchanted Frost has been her favorite creation thus far.  "Glitch Axelrad asked me to join the creative team on this project.  He and Elizabeth Tinsley told me the storyline and ideas and how they wanted the SIM to feel and I really tried to create that magic.  The success of Enchanted Frost is shared with my creative team: Glitch Axelrad, Elizabeth Tinsley, Harter Fall, and, of course, Momma Pea, Kiana Writer ,I am grateful for the opportunity to work with some amazing people with MadPeas.  This community fosters creativity and keeps me pushing the limits of my imagination."

The Enchanted Frost Hunt

The MadPea team is glad that she commited as Event Manager. The first huge event is ahead:

Raven: "We have a Carneval Parade coming up Dec. 22nd.  It will be a contest!  Contestants will build their floats offsite and show them off during the parade for the crowd to vote."

Read here about the Carneval Parade:

MadPeas will be hosting a parade through Carneval on Dec. 22nd at 12:00 SLT!  There will be a contest for "Best Apocalypse Survivalist" parade float.  Floats will be judged by the crowd, so get your creative mojo going and build an AMAZING parade float!  Theme is "I Survived the Mayan End of the World!".  Because Peas ROCK and we'll be the last ones standing!  Either that, or we tripped the guy in front of us. :)

New Hunt on the way!

While the Enchanted Frost hunt is still going on strong, we are working hard to bring you a new hunt straight after.

Room 326 will begin on the 28th of December and lasts until the end of January. We are taking in 15 amazing stores and locations in Second Life. If you are an owner of one or know someone you think should be in, please contact Clicquot Oh or Elizabeth Tinsley for an application form inworld. Applications deadline is December 16th.

Legend of the Month is a series of hunts, where each month a new legend is discovered and the stories take you on interactive grid-wide adventures.
This time we're entering Room 326 in the Silent Peacock Hotel.

The Silent Peacock Hotel has been recently closed for an investigation after 15 people have disappeared from their premises. What the people have in common is that they all have spent a night in Room 326.
It's a mystery of how this has happened since the door has been locked and there are no signs of struggle or forced entry. All of the personal belongings of the guests have been untouched.  The local police has been left clueless.

The players will take the role as private investigators to examine the evidence and search for the truth behind the disappearances.

Do you dare to enter Room 326 and discover the evil secrets it holds?

The amazing Silent Peacock Hotel is brought to you by BlueSean Yiyuan, Silex Zapezki and Sasha00 Laryukov from Hackberry Hall.

Enchanted Frost Hunt Gifts: Machinima Open Studio Project

The Enchanted Frst does not only leads you to shops. There is more to explore! A very special place is the Machinima Open Studio Project. Many different scenes invite to take photos and videos. Learn more about the project:

Press Release
"Quiet on the set ...   Roll cameras ..."
"ACTION!"

If you ever dreamed of being a movie mogul, the time is now. The Machinima Open Studio Project at LEA20 offers a wide variety of locales and sets built with filming in mind.  Nine builds dot the countryside with more to come. Peaceful Valley sits in the shadow of tall mountains, should you keep the region Windlight setting, while the cottages and outdoor locations along Beach Walk are definitely a sun lover's paradise.  LEA20 isn't too different from your favorite picturesque sim, except of course it is filming friendly.

There is that open spaces advantage in effect also. Houses have been situated to encompass vista; more shots are available and you may never even need to use that derez option. Ground level is fun to explore even as you may wonder how railroad tracks appear and disappear, seemingly going nowhere -- how a bunkhouse turns into a schoolroom when you enter. No, it isn't the twilight zone; it is simply the set designer taking advantage of spaces.

The welcome area is your starting point. Boards with photos let you choose your venue or opt for a HUD with the full list of locations right at your fingertips. The project includes four sound stages. I hear that food services just dropped by on Stage One, so heading over there is most likely your best bet. And what do you know? It really IS a sound stage. Well, perhaps a bit neater than the norm and with fewer cords and less electrician's tape; but still the ambiance is evident. Chose a set and of course take some pictures!

Another impressive area is the High Corporate Offices which are open for meetings and classes -- and of course filming. Just ask for a group invite if you need to put an ad in the Events listings. There is also a movie camera, an anchor desk and a widescreen backdrop that let's you click for different stills to help tell your story.

And this is your great hunt prize:

Carneval Vendors: Wicked Sin

The Carneval sim is worth more than one closer look. Here we present another nice shop: Wicked Sin. We talk to owner Yuna Khaos:

Yuna Khaos: "I love to be creative and making clothes is on way i get to do it. TO me it is fun to create outfits that people love to wear. i always create something i wear myself with a few exception when someone ask me to create something  else.  I just started my mens line. Which is not very big at the moment but i plan on making it grow.

My store name is a combination of the two place i worked at in SL. Wicked came from the first job i ever had in sl at Club Wicked. Sin came form a designer friend of mine that i helped her in her store and she taught me how ot make clothes. Her store was Sinful Designs. I started my store in January of 2011.

I have my hand in many creative things in sl most only a few people get to see. But I am learning and loving all of it. Like right now i have a dear friend of mine, Deja Letov, teaching me some building things. So i might have a furniture store or homes soon."

Come and visit her shop at the Carneval sim!
