Store

What did you think of the game experience? Every MadPeas hunt has a theme or definite feeling about the game that they create. What do you feel is the feeling that jumps out at you with this game? What did you feel?

To me it felt like I were peeking out from inside my closet to see Indiana Jones and Laura Croft making passionate love on my bed.

When you heard that the players can actually die in the game, what was your initial reaction to that?

I immediately begain making a list of people I am not too fond of and cordially invited them to the hunt.

What by far was your favorite part or scene in the game?

I really enjoyed the area full of Lava and wooden walkways.

MadPeas is notorious for making things difficult and it shows by the amount of times people ask for help or more hints. We have the helpers in the pea group that love to do so. Did you have a lot of people asking for help with your store? Do you hide your item very sneakily or are you more kind to your fellow hunters?

I had a some people message me asking for help so I had them answer some trivia questions before I helped them with a hint.  Like for example with the last person I asked the question "If female mosquitos eat blood then what do male mosquitos eat?" The answer is nectar.  The gentle little buggers.  Actually, when I first spoke to Kiana I got all excited and had visions of booby trapping my entire shop with traps and devising riddles and things to find the quest item.   After a while I came to my senses and just hid it in a fairly easy spot i think.

So be honest, how many times did the caves take your life before you were able to complete the game. (if not completed) how many times have you lost your life up to this point?

Well lets just say that were I a cat then I would still be dead.

Bryn Oh

Please tell us a little bit about your store and your products?
(How did you get started in Second Life?)

I began in second life six years ago after discovering I could use it to create artwork.  I am an oil painter in my first life and for me this was like painting a picture you could go into and interact with.  My shop is full of past work I have done as well as some curiosity shelves with little curiosities and oddities you can collect to put on those shelves.   I found a gun table (wood table box with glass top) in an antique shop one day and converted it to a curiosity table in my living room.  It is full of fossils and seeds and bones, arrowheads and what not.  I guess that is where it originated from.  It is a similar idea to what they did in the Renaissance times where guests would come to be entralled by a wide range of strange little things.

What is the prize that you made for the Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior?

I made a variation of a bunny mask my avatar wears sometimes.

What do you think of the game play and the story that builds the game?

I think it is a great way to make a hunt more entertaining.  I have been told that hunts in general have, up until now, been more about residents rushing about from store to store trying to get freebies.  That after doing a few hunts they can get tiresome.

What is your favorite thing about being involved with this game?

To be honest my favorite part is seeing how all the madpea builders bring their individual talents togther to create such a layered work.  I know many of their artworks separately but its fun to see them combined.

Thank you for taking part in this interview. It has been a pleasure!

Inca Vendor Interview - Loki Mesh

Loki Mesh

Store & Location

What did you think of the game experience?
I liked the feel of the start of the game, it set a good mood for story of searching for treasure. The searching for parts that would unlock further parts of the tomb was reminiscent of original tomb raider games.

When you heard that the players can actually die in the game, what was your initial reaction?
I was worried that it would be based on SL's built in damage system which send you home when you die and can be really frustrating. A risk of dieing is important to a game, but there has to be a balance with risk, Second life is already frustrating enough.

What by far was your favorite part or scene in the game?
I only got as far as the bit where you find gems to put in statues, but up until then i think my favorite part was blowing up the wall.

MadPeas is notorious for making things difficult and it shows by the amount of times people ask for help or more hints. We have the helpers in the pea group that love to do so. Did you have a lot of people asking for help with your store? Do you hide your item very sneakily or are you more kind to your fellow hunters?
I believe Second Life is already frustrating enough, for me its not about how hard it is to find, but how much you enjoy the journey to find it. I think most people found the item on my region thanx to the sign posts lol, but they enjoyed the journey up to and into the cave.

So be honest, how many times did the caves take your life before you were able to complete the game. (if not completed) how many times have you lost your life up to this point?
I died twice

Loki

Please tell us a little bit about your store and your products?
(how did you get started in Second Life?)

I came across Second Life back in 2005. It was featured on the Apple Website and i tried it out just to see what it was like since it was rare for any games to be on mac and free. I had no idea what it was about and no idea what i was going to do. But as soon as i took control of my avatars appearance my childishness and imagination flourished with a freedom i had not had before. I soon made friends who like me had a yearning to relive childhood and the nostalgia in that. They then encouraged me to use my design experience to make clothes for a niche market that began to grow then mesh came along and i somehow got my head around 3D modeling and here i am now making monsters and goblins, airships and cabins while also giving joy to people with my clothes range.

What is the prize that you made for the Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior?

For the Inca game i thought what would people love to have and find useful too. So i made an explorers backpack complete with separate tool kit. Everyone loves to kit their avatar out for adventure.

What do you think of the game play and the story that builds the game?

The Gameplay reminds me of early Tomb Raider games, simple find the objects that open the doors and really the simple ideas are always the best.

Have you had a favorite experience with any of the hunt member?

I played Inca Warrior with my friends.

What is your favorite thing about being involved with this game?

I like the opportunity to give SL users something fun to do and showcase my work to be enjoyed by those who play the game.

What would you like to say to the Peas that have or have not done the hunt?

Definitely have a go, there are not many people doing experiences like this in SL. Games and experiences are really hard to do on the SL platform so have a go check it out.

Thank you for taking part in this interview. It has been a pleasure!

Honey the Conqueror

This is Honey Bernandes, owner of Vivid and the FIRST vendor of the game to have survived!
She beat the lag monsters and the stone monsters and came in 20th after dying ONLY 6 times!

Honey feeling a little bit worried...

Honey, tell us, what did you think of the game experience?
This is Super Amazing...I always enjoy MadPea Hunts, but this one was by far the Funniest & Unique. Can't wait to see what will be the next Hunt & wait for it anxiously :D

Were there any surprises?
The parts I was surprised the most was the Eye Statues / Golems & end where Glass Floor breaks & you fall to the Tomb Gifts

Going to kick some Golem butt!

Honey, we’re curious.. what was your favorite part?
OMG so hard to decide...from beginning to end was my Favorite...but the part I mostly laughed was the Eye Statues. Sharing the time with Vamparo (my partner) and just having fun makes it awesome

Did you get stuck anywhere or needed help?
Umm...I personally didnt have any issues, but did need to ask for a hint at Garden of Dreams...when they said "Far Away", didnt expect it to be at the end of the World LOL!

We saw that you died only 6 times, that's really impressive! What was your secret of surviving?
Oh WOW! Welllllll, I actually died 2 times on purpose to start over with my Partner...I think doing the Hunt with him was the best part. He died so much I would laugh very hard where stomach was hurting. But don't worry Babe, you eventually Survived :D
As per my secret? I'm play a lot of Online & Video Games (including Tomb Raider) so I felt in the Zone LOL!

Honey's partner, Vamparo being just a little frustrated with the Owl Guardians

How did you discover Second Life and how did Vivid come to existence?
A friend mentioned to me about Second Life...I was curious & like most, I got addicted. I became a DJ & enjoy it to the fullest, which I am still a DJ, but wanted to try something new, which made me decide in starting my Store & it has been a nice Journey. One of the 1st Hunts I did from MadPea was Sanity Falls & since then I have done pretty much all MadPea Hunts. Recently decided I would love to participate as a Vendor. I got accepted to The Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior & it has been an honor working with such a great & well organized Team, I would surely love to participate again.

Please tell us a little bit about your store and your products?
It’s still in the process of Expanding...But I mostly sell Female Clothing (Mesh & Non-Mesh) & a Few Male, which I have been working to place a lot more options to sell, including Shoes & Accessories...so crossing fingers everything turns out well.

Vivid Store

From inside the store

Finally, what would you like to say to the Peas that have not done the game yet?
What are you waiting for!??? I tell that to my friends, when I talk to them about MadPea Hunts "This is not a Traditional Hunt & I can assure you will enjoy it...DO IT!!!"
Special Thanks to ALL The MadPea Team!!! Their creativity is mind blowing & unique...You are masters of HUNTS & Keep up the great work <3
Check out this awesome prize that you get from Honey after completing the game! A full outfit for both sexes! Most definitely worth dying for. :D
